On the runway, tailoring was oversized with strong shoulders at the likes of Ellery and Isabel Marant. The trouser suit and skirt suit are making a comeback this season and in a more corporate style than the printed statement co-ords we have seen in recent seasons for occasion dressing.
For AW17/18 it’s orange which gets its moment in the spotlight but this bold bright is surprisingly wearable. If you’re already adventurous when it comes to dressing, then take your style up a notch with tangerine-tinged outerwear that packs a punch.
The dress is firmly back on the fashion radar after several seasons where separates took the lead in our styling selections with evening skirts dressed down for daytime and wear-anywhere pieces styled up and down depending on the occasion.
Rich and earthy desert tones are warming up menswear for the AW17/18 season with camel taking the sartorial lead. The fashion-forward way to wear camel is to combine with burnt caramel and dark brown tones but if that’s on the adventurous side for you, play it safe by using this on-trend neutral to lift a dark look.
As with many trends, the key is to wear the look top to toe and while the high octane sparkle of sequins, metallic leather and lurex in one outfit may work on the runway it doesn’t necessarily work in real life. But this trend can be wearable and taken into daytime dressing with muted metallic pieces – look for lurex knits and gunmetal tones as an alternative to high-shine silver.
As checks are at the forefront of men’s trends for Autumn Winter 2017/2018, it’s time to get adventurous. Take your pick from plaid, windowpane, dogtooth and classic two tone checks – anything goes where gridlines are concerned – but don’t just stick to one at a time.
Floral prints are never far from fashion’s favourites whatever the season as the pattern is no longer limited to the warmer months and is instead a year-round staple in our wardrobes. The key though is to tweak the style of your floral print pieces as there’s a wealth of horticulturally inspired prints to inspire and update your style each season.
AW17/18 Men's Fashion Trend Couduroy is your new season style up date. And not just for evening. For a casual take on corduroy that’s of-the-moment, a cord trucker jacket updates outerwear for down-time dressing.
