Here's what our styling team have been snapping up so far this season:
1. Mango Tropical Jumpsuit
Showing a bit of skin doesn't necessarily mean thigh-high hemlines and full cleavage on show; the grown-up way to flash some flesh is with less obvious cut-out areas and and the good news is that it's more flattering for everyone. The cold shoulder trend is still around and open back detailing can be seen across the high street, but for the NHJ Style stylists' pick it's a culotte jumpsuit which gets the cutaway treatment and this time it's on the front. With its bold tropical print, wide leg fit and tie front it may not appeal to everyone but it will take you from holidays to picnics and dinner to drinks in sliders, flip-flops and wedges as well as sandals and stilettos. The high waist line covers a softer middle and the front opening offers a flattering sneak peek above. Go all-out tropicana and accessorise with this seasons must-have tassel earrings and a bright bag or let the one-piece speak for itself and wear with neutral sandals and stacked metallic bangles.
Mango Tropical Jumpsuit, £35.99
2. Zara Pink Skinny Jeans
If you follow NHJ Style on social media you'll have your eyes on these Zara jeans already after we shared them on Instagram; if not, get these on your fashion radar now. Pink is one of the key trend colours for the season and the brighter the better, so these fuchsia skinny jeans definitely hit the trend bullseye. Wear as you would any coloured skinny jean but for a real 2017 twist, pair with a blue and white striped shirt, embroidered boho blouse or off the shoulder top.
Zara pink skinny jeans, £25.99
3. Topshop Shacket
Transitional style has never been more relevant as the seasons merge and we find multiple lighter layers more useful each year. Sleeveless coats, coatigans and more recently The Shacket - a shirt/jacket hybrid - are now wardrobe essentials. This Topshop camo version can be thrown over anything from a t-shirt and jeans to lightweight summer dress and sandals making it an ideal outfit topper right now and through into Autumn.
Topshop camouflage shacket, £49 (available in Regular, Petite or Tall).
4. Warehouse Pleat Top
The statement sleeve is a key trend detail this season and adds an instant update to even the simplest outfit; it's an ideal way to refresh the work wear wardrobe and adds interest to casual outfits with minimal effort. The pleated sleeve is the one which caught the NHJ Style Team's eyes and this purse-friendly Warehouse top has found its way into more than one of our wardrobes. In pink, you're rocking two trends in one and it styles perfectly with navy, but if you're looking to give your neutrals a trend twist then opt for the white or black. While the shape is great for skimming a tummy, beware that the raised neckline and pleat front will accentuate a fuller bust.
Warehouse pleat top, £35 (available in white, pink, yellow and black).
5. Dune Toe-cap Espadrilles
The flatform shoe has been around for some time now and championed on the catwalk by the likes of Stella McCartney but for a nod to this thick-soled shape which feels more wearable, these Dune toe-cap espadrilles tick the boxes for practicality, comfort and style. Style with a smart cropped trouser and shirt, jumpsuit or dungarees, or trusty jeans and a shell top. Why not team with the Zara pink skinny jeans, Warehouse pleat top in white and the Topshop camo shacket. Incorporating colour, print, a light neutral tone and the metallic detail in the shoes, it's a perfectly balanced outfit for weekend casual.
Dune toe-cap espadrilles, £70 (available in nude with rose gold toe cap, white with silver toe cap or navy).
