Whether you’re a boho dresser at heart or you gravitate towards a more minimalist style of dressing, orange is the colour you need in your wardrobe this season. Designer collections for spring-summer 2019 showed a full range of fluoro, tangerine and burnt orange shades in top to toe monotone outfits, printed prairie dresses, sports-inspired looks and more.

Orange makes for a perfect colour-blocking partner and these three colour pairings will power up your wardrobe:

1. Cobalt blue + Orange

Combining complementary colours - those opposite one another on the colour wheel - creates the strongest contrast for a stylishly vivid outfit. Try voluminous pieces (as pictured below) for added drama.

2. Pink + Orange

It’s a match made in colour-clashing heaven and the brighter the fuchsia and orange hues the better. Try a pink accessories with an orange dress and vice versa.

3. White + Orange

On the runway, Dries Van Noten showed how a flash of orange can make a little white dress really zing for a bold occasion look, but this combination isn’t just for statement dressing. Try a soft orange blouse or camisole with a white jacket or trousers.
