This season it’s time to shake your tail feathers inspired by the plumage seen on the Spring-Summer 2019 catwalks, ensuring feathered fashion was on our style radar way before sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner stepped out in their feathered fancies at the Met Gala.

In the real world, away from the flashbulbs of the runways and red carpets, feathered trimmings are a great way to add a little fun and a softer finish to your summer occasion wear. You don’t need to go all out with the avian theme to embrace this trend because less is definitely more when it comes to feathers.

Body Shape Tips:

With the added volume feathers give, be sure to keep the detail to areas you want to draw attention to. If you’re bigger up top, look for items with feathered trimmings further down the body, and if it’s your hips that are your widest area, draw the eye upwards with feathered detailing on the shoulders or neckline.
