Top Style Tips For The Festive Season
Top Style Tips For The Festive Season
Dress to impress...
- Oversize clutch bags are the must-have accessory of the festive season. You can still fit in all the daily essentials without ruining the look of your party outfit.
- If you don't like dresses then the tuxedo trouser suit is more popular than ever. With so many styles and prices to choose from now is the best time to find the perfect one. Slim legged trousers and long line jackets suit tall slender women whilst wide legs and cropped, fitted jackets suit shorter curvaceous women.
- If teetering around all night in sky scraper heels isn't for you go for a pair of pretty jewelled ballet pumps. These elegant shoes still have the glam factor without the aches and pains. Opt for a pointed toe to help lengthen the leg.
- There is nothing worse than pasty, goose pimperly legs to ruin the look of a fab dress. Work the tights trend of the season and go for colourful opaques or if the dress is simple enough opt for a black lace patterned pair.
- Don't ruin your grand entrance to a party by turning up in your old dog walking jacket! Invest in a sophisticated classic black knee length belted trench that will guarantee going with any outfit you pull together.

Use make-up to stand out from the crowd...
- Keep your foundation fresh, modern and natural by applying a sheer lightweight foundation to even out skin tone but still allow your own skin to show through. Camouflage dark circles with every girl's secret weapon - Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat.
- Dress up your eyes with an eye shadow texture you wouldn't normally wear. Sweep on a metallic shadow from lash line to crease. Blend the outer edges of product upwards and outwards. Work black, grey, dark brown or plum eyeliner into lash lines.
- Dab a sheer but subtle shimmery highlighter on brow bones. Apply black mascara in a lengthening and thickening formula on top lashes to finish off eye definition.
- Massage a lightly shimmery cream or gel blush the colour of your natural flush onto the apples of your cheeks. Blend away any evident lines and excess product, create the wow by adding a delicate touch of shimmering loose powder to the tops of your cheek bones.
- Since you've played up your eyes...play down your lips and opt for a nude colour lipstick with oodles of clear lip gloss on top.

Try something different with your hair...
- Fringes are on trend and can be achieved by attaching extensions to give a solid strong fringe or a softer sweeping fringe.
- Red is making a comeback in clothes and hair but if you're too frightened to add such an intense colour to your hair why not try coloured extensions for a flash of the festive season.
- Wear a ponytail quite high at the back of the head. Try adding an extension ponytail for added length and a touch of sophistication. They also look great when you're wearing a hat.
- Try mixing different styling products together to form the ultimate styling aid. Merge a wax with a serum for medium lengths or a gel with a paste to give more hold on shorter hair.
- Shorter hair is more popular in the colder months as it gives us more time in bed in the mornings, is quicker to style, and more economical as you save a fortune on products - so why not try that short crop you've always thought of having!
