Terms and Conditions at NHJ Style Academy
Fees
The full payment of the styling course fees must be received 21 days prior to commencement of the course. Your place on the styling course cannot be guaranteed until full payment is received. We have the right to give your place to someone on the waiting list if you have not paid the full amount 21 days prior to the course start date.
All fees stated are inclusive of VAT.
Methods of payment
Fees can be paid online or by credit card over the phone.
Payment by cheque is also accepted. Please make cheques payable to NHJ Style Academy.
Minimum age requirement
We generally have a policy of 18 years minimum, however we are open to the exception of 16 years plus.
Materials and equipment
The styling course fees include basic course materials which are provided.
If further course equipment is required by yourself, this will be included in the information pack which will be sent to you when you have secured a place.
Late applications
If there are places available on the course, we will accept late applications right up to one day before the course.
Late applications will usually have their place confirmed by email or phone.
Cancellations by us
Please note that the styling course has minimum attendance levels and may be cancelled if too few bookings are received.
NHJ Style Academy reserves the right to amend or cancel the course, and change the course location.
If we cancel a course we will endeavour to give you at least one week's notice and you will have the option of transferring to a later course or a full refund of the fees which will be returned to you within three weeks.
We will not be liable for any losses arising as a consequence of any modification or cancellation of the course.
Cancellations by you
If you wish to cancel your place on the course your request should be made in writing.
If your written request is received more than six weeks prior to the start of the course, you will be entitled to a full refund, less a £100 administrative cost.
If your written request is received less than three weeks before the start of the course and hence after full payment has been made, we will retain the deposit (£500 for womenswear course and £250 for menswear course).
If a replacement student is found prior to the course, you will receive a full refund less £100 administrative fee.
Substitutions
If you are unable to attend the course you are permitted to transfer your place to a substitute student up to one week before the course starts.
We must be notified in writing and there will be an administrative charge of £100 applied.
Non attendance
Non attendance of the course due to illness or for personal or professional reasons does not provide the right to refunds or a transfer to a later course. Extra tuition may be provided subject to availability.
Class postponement
If the class needs to be postponed for that same reason we will make every effort to reschedule the class or to add missed hours onto the remaining course. If for any reason the tutor is ill during the course we will endeavour to use another tutor to fill her space.
Work experience
As part of the NHJ Style Academy's personal styling course we will offer you up to two days work experience with an NHJ Style personal stylist and client. This is not included as a specific cost in the course fee. It is an added extra we offer to students as an opportunity to gain practical experience. It is by no means compulsory or enforced and does not in any way preclude you from successfully completing the course if you decide not to do it. You will still receive a course certificate whether or not you take up the offer of work experience or not.
We will endeavour to offer each student both a wardrobe consultation and a personal shopping day as work experience whenever possible. However, if we are unable to offer a wardrobe consultation we will offer an additional personal shopping day or a styling event instead. We always try to arrange the wardrobe consultation session with a client near to where you are based, but if this is not possible and you need to travel we expect you to pay for any travel expenses yourself. All personal shopping days take place in London.
One of the NHJ Style styling team will liaise directly with students to arrange convenient dates for their work experience. However, if a student commits to dates but then cancels on more than three occasions we won't offer you any further work experience sessions. The two work experience days must be taken within 3 months after the course ends unless otherwise agreed with the course tutor.
Certificates
On successful completion of your course you will be given a certificate endorsed by the course tutor and Nicky Hambleton-Jones.
Replacement certificates can be produced up to one year after completion of the course but will incur a fee of £50.
Trading and product names
None of NHJ Style Consultancy's trading or product names may be used by students in any way without our written consent.
Reference to 'Nicky Hambleton-Jones' may not be used by students to promote themselves without our written consent.
Students who have successfully completed the course are welcome to say on marketing materials that they have successfully completed an intensive personal styling course at the NHJ Style Academy.
