Spring Accessories
Spring Accessories
With so many soft new colours around this spring, accessories have never been so important to the make or break of an outfit. Here's our guide to the top 10 ‘Must Haves' for the season to ensure your accessories are the perfect match to complete your new look wardrobe.
1. The Nude Shoe
In complete contrast to all the bright, chunky statement shoes that have been in fashion for so long, the elegant nude coloured heeled shoe is a welcome change. Ideal for complimenting the pale pastel shades around for spring, as well as creating the appearance of slimmer calves and ankles for those shorter hemlines.
2. The Charm Bracelet
Arm candy is definitely the favoured jewellery of the season and is perfect for detracting attention away from any bingo wings! Choose bracelets with plenty of pretty colourful charms to add interest to your overall ensemble.
3. The Flower Necklace
The bright gems in the statement necklaces from winter have blossomed into big, bold flowers for spring. Go for short daisy chain style chokers to fill in open necklines or long floral pendants to draw the eye down. Both will perfectly compliment the new romantic styles around.
4. The Tassel Bag
Last year it was all about the structured bag, but this spring the soft slouchy bag rules as long as it is completed with tassels. Muted large shoppers that blend with spring's colour palette are not only great for carrying around all your worldly goods but the funky fringed detail will help any wobbly bits go un-noticed when slung over the shoulder.
5. The Brogue Shoe
The new convenient flat shoe adds a touch of modern masculinity amongst the lady-like fashions around. Avoid heavy treads and opt for light, soft soles with almond shaped toes in neutral tones to compliment legs and make them look extra long and lean.
6. The Stack of Bangles
If all this girly fashion feels a bit too much, toughen it up a little with colourful bangles liberally stacked up each arm. No matter whether you choose slim or chunky styles, plain or patterned, mix and match them together and the bright detail will draw in and throw the eye line away from any areas you feel self conscious of.
7. The Slim Belt
Slim belts are very in this season. Make sure you go for a belt that is extra long so that you can wear it on your waist or low slung around the hips. If you feel that just one belt leaves you feeling a bit self-conscious, then layer a couple of belts together to conceal hips or define your waist.
8. The Corsage
Thanks to Miss Carrie Bradshaw the corsage is uber cool again. Small and subtle, or outrageously oversized, pin flowers on to shoulders to not only add fun to outfits but also draw attention up and away from tum and hips. Or if you would prefer to take the attention away from broad shoulders, tie a length of ribbon around waist and pin corsage to the side to create an interesting belt.
9. The Supersize Clutch
Still reining strong in the bag section, the clutch just keeps on getting bigger and bigger which is great for making figures appear slimmer! Make a real statement day or night with a bright citrus tone to add a splash of exciting colour to any outfit.
10. The Teardrop Earring
Whether your hair is long or short, large pretty earrings that drop down the neck not only make an elegant statement but also help make necks appear swan like. Choose gold or silver for refined sophistication that ties in neatly with the softer looking spring wardrobe.
